District Attorney
The primary responsibility of the Orleans County District Attorney’s Office is to achieve justice in the Courts of Orleans County. Since 1992 District Attorney Cardone, along with his staff, have had the responsibility of prosecuting all criminal matters in the County and Justice Courts. In addition to the prosecution of cases the District Attorney’s Office is proactive with the Major Felony Crime Task Force (formed as a Department with the District Attorney’s Office in 2006) in fighting the drug problem in and about Orleans County. The District Attorney’s Office, through its Crime Victim’s Unit, reaches out to those who are victims of crime and helps them through the process of a prosecution with their concerns and in their obtaining orders of protection and restitution. Daily the District Attorney’s Office works with each of the local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in reviewing pending cases. As one of your community resources please call upon this office if we can help you with any criminal matter or if you are interested in an internship or a speaker for you group meeting.
